Yep, I agree with Jim. The best life-insurance a biker can have is a safe riding style, and that means TO ALWAYS COUNT ON NOT BEING SEEN ! It has saved my neck once. About passing I think it is safest and wisest to ride like you would if you were driving your car; Pass only when there is no oncoming traffic.
Here in Finland bikers greet each other, it has been like that for at least 25 years. I think that is common in Scandinavia. Don't know about rest of Europa. Nice habit anyway.
Somebody -can't remember who right now- on this forum use to end the inputs with "Ride Safe - Ride Free !" Well spoken. Let's think about it more often.
